Cheese and refried bean pupusas.
I grew up in a culturally mixed family and back then I hated it, only because I wanted to fit in. How silly, huh? But being different is always hard when you’re a kid. I did always appreciate the foods that my family made, though. Half of my family (mom’s side) is from El Salvador with a little Spanish thrown in. My dad’s side is from Indonesia, mostly Sumatran. All of these cultures have some fantastic food and I’m always happy when I can eat what I grew up with. Read the rest of this entry »
