Still haven’t found what I’ve been missing.

05 Sep

So, it’s been a month since we’ve come back to the US of A and I’m slowly getting used to certain things and constantly rejecting others without even trying. I won’t get into details, but I’m glad to have my family (especially my sisters) to lean on. Even if it’s just for a momentary b*tching fest or something or to share a nice meal. The Mr. is on his second week of OCS (officer candidate school) and it sounds like he’s doing well. Granted, the stuff he’s doing is a lot more masochistic sounding than any of my workouts ever have been. Oh yes, and I’m back to working out and running. I’m. in. so. much. pain. today. But hey, that’s normal.

Spider and my mom’s cat, Suri, are still not able to be left together without a “chaperone.” Spider is a very aggressive little boy and is smitten by sweet, small, cuddly little Suri. She’s basically so scared of him that she is constantly keeping him at a distance by hissing. I hope that they become friends soon, but cats are finicky that way and one can never know what will happen. It may very well be that they won’t ever be able to co-exist, but thankfully we will be in Colorado next year and they’ll both be “only children” again.

As for the bread situation, I still haven’t found anything that makes me teary-eyed (with happiness). I’m too lazy right now to bake my own, especially since my parents’ oven is so temperamental. Well, I also have a bread maker… but eh, I’m not exactly inspired yet. I love good bread, but bread baking/making is not my forté. Maybe I’ll eventually dip my hands in it again, but for now I’ll be OK. Everything is OK and it’s still tough at times with the food and certain things, but it’s really nothing I can’t handle! :)

Ah love… more reason to come visit! There is a quite good German bakery that a German friend here swears by and loyally buys their bread every weekend. Hmm… maybe if I sent you some it might work? I bet now though! It sounds like we’re too far away for it to stay fresh…

maomau: I hope so! ;) thanks for stopping by!

_j_: hi! yes, sort of. but they still have a long way to go! hope you are well! :)

reese: YES, more reason for sure. the bread probably wouldn’t survive the trip, but I appreciate your offer! :D

I feel your pain. We’ve been back in the States for two years, after three in Spain, and we still haven’t found decent bread. Or coffee. Or steak. *sigh*

Your blog is super. So are your photographies. They make me hungry. I have spent a nice moment when seeing them. Thanks a lot.
